Jewelry Care
Gold Vermeil
Gold Vermeil (pronounced Ver-May) involves a thick layer of gold (either 14K or 18K) that is electroplated onto sterling silver. This process exhibits a lustrous appearance of solid gold, which makes them an elegant and cost-effective choice. Caring for your gold vermeil jewelry is essential to ensure longevity and maintain its lustrous appearance.
Here is a step by step guide to caring for your previous pieces:
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals
- Remove your jewelry before swimming as chlorine can damage the gold layer.
- Avoid contact with harsh chemicals (cleaning detergent, perfumes, etc…)
- Remove when working out / sports to prevent scratches / damage.
- Store it properly (cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight). Use a soft jewelry pouch or zip lock bags to separate each piece to prevent scratches / tangling and oxidation.
- Clean gently with a soft,lint-free microfiber or jewelry polishing cloth after each wear.
- Avoid using any cleaning solutions for your jewelry pieces.
- Be gentle with gemstones and avoid submerging them in water for extended periods.
Sterling Silver
- Use the same care as Gold Vermeil pieces.
18K Gold Plated
Our 18K gold plated jewelry has a stainless steel base coated in luxurious gold that does not tarnish and is completely waterproof due to the PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating method. However, to ensure that each piece continues to shine here are some steps:
- Clean gently with soft, lint-free microfiber or jewelry polishing cloth to keep it shining.
- Jewelry with gems, avoid submerging them in water for extended periods.
